Commodity Sourcing Group Named Fastest Growing Urban Company
DETROIT - May 9, 2006 - With a growth rate of more than 10,000 percent over the past five years, Commodity Sourcing Group (CSG) has been named the fastest-growing company in urban America by Inc. magazine and the Initiative for a Competitive Inner City.
Commodity Sourcing Group provides procurement, sourcing and commodity integration for healthcare industries by assuming management of the client's printing, transportation, laundry, medical-supply procurement and other services.
CSG takes the number one spot in Inc.'s June 2006 issue, which highlights CSG's assistance and mentoring to smaller companies, which then sell their services through Commodity Sourcing Group. From communications to human resources, CSG has assisted other businesses, even competitors, and in turn has grown CSG. This is the third time CSG has been cited in Inc. magazine. In 2005, CSG finished as the 22nd fastest-growing private business. And in 2004, Inc. ranked CSG number one in the health sector and as the 16th fastest-growing private business overall.
"Over the last four years, we have worked very hard to create innovative solutions that increase value to our customers. As an urban company, we are also very proud that we can give back to our community and help rebuild our city," says Darryl R. Hart, co-founder and chief executive officer.
According to Inc. magazine, referred to as the "small-business bible" by The New York Times, these entrepreneurial companies with their ability to overcome urban challenges are the future of America and can teach the larger business world.
The Initiative for a Competitive Inner City, a Boston nonprofit that promotes economic prosperity in inner cities, and New York-based Inc. magazine compiled a list of 100 businesses nationwide as part of their 2006 Inner City 100 Program. Now in its seventh year, this national competition finds and ranks the fast-growing companies in inner cities across America. This year more than 4,500 nominations were received.
